where is most of the heat directed when gtaw with a dc
----------------------------------------------
johnnie,
on dcen the current flows from the electrode to the work piece like a garden hose. the heat goes into the work.
on dcep, the heat goes up thru the electrode like a vacuum cleaner. thats way the electrode balls or even melts even at low amperage
thanks for the post,
jody
