im using 1/8 tungsten with 3/32 filler welding ss 316 and Inconel625 at 55-80 amps wanted to know would using a smaller tungsten help in anyway or does it pretty much stay the same at low amperages?

its usually best to use pretty much as small a diameter electrode as you can within reason. . arc starts are crisper and there is more control a low amperage with arc wandering.
that said, if what you are doing is working just fine, I would not recommend changing anything.
