6013 rods are designed for welding on either AC or DCEP, or DCEN.
There are some slight differences with each polarity but not as much as you might think.
DCEN usually gets slightly less penetration so is recommended for thinner metals.
IF all you have is an AC stick welder like an old Lincoln Tombstone, that will work just fine too.
