sizing materials

one more question, what size filler wire should i use to weld 2"sch 40 stainless pipe? what size tungsten?

---------------------------------------------------
I have always found 1/8 filler wire to work best for stainless steel root passes using a lay wire technique....unless you have a foot pedal...and most likely, you will not have a foot pedal on a job site.

after the root, either 3/32 or 1/8 filler rods

same for tungsten. either 3/32 or 1/8 works

I know 1/8 tungsten seems a little big but I have worked a few jobs where that is all they used for their 2" schedule 40 pipe and got good results.

good luck,

jody
