root pass 6011 vertical up

Help me ! I need some tips on keeping the key hole on a open groove but joint with a 6011 electrode.

I can make it look good in the middle of the joint and that's it i suck at the start and at the end it blows through how can I keep the key hole more consistent??????????

1/8" gap 1/8" land jam the rod in as tight as you can and make believe the puddle is a small nail you are tapping in with a small hammer.About one tap a second or more.

set amperage to where you can hold it tight without sticking or without blowing holes
