Inverter welders. The verdict is in. At least here in the coal mines of southern W.V., The consensus is 3 months is a long life for one. Barring destruction from abuse, none so far can handle the dust and moisture. The ICR's short, The potentiometers fall apart, etc. Miller,Lincoln,Thermal Arc,PowCon, none can stand the mining environment.
The small size and portability really hurt them too. They get thrown & Ran over. That $230 dollar Lincoln a.c.transformer buzz box is the king. I work on inverter welders almost every day. I personally like them, I own a Pow Con 300ss,but I know it, and you do too. It will be trouble some day .That's my 2 cents, Have a good one
