how much root concavity allowed
how much root concavity allowed?
--------------------------------------------------
the answer depends on the code used.
some welding codes limit root concavity to 1/32" or about .8mm
others allow for 1/16" 1.3mm
there are also sometimes stipulations on whether it is uniform all around the joint, or localized.
you will need to determine which welding code is being referenced for a more precise answer.
