heat for setting flux core

would like to know what heat i should run welding flux core 0.35 and 0.45 wire in overhead and vertical positions on 3/8 to 1/2 inch plate.

---------------------------------------------------

you can get some pretty good settings at this link

http://www.millerwelds.com/resources/calculators/mig_flux_amperage_calculator.php

but make sure to use lower thickness settings for vertical than what is listed...

in other words, if you are looking for settings for 3/8" thick metal in the vertical position, select 1/4" on the weld calculator and you will be pretty close.

a resource for self shielded flux core settings is here...

http://www.lincolnelectric.com/assets/en_US/Products/Consumable_Flux-CoredWires-Self-Shielded-Innershield-InnershieldNR-152/c32400.pdf

you will need to copy and paste these links in your browser address box

best of luck to you
