Good vision

Change the lens on your helmet regularly.
I use auto dark helmet with clear protective lens. That
Protective lens lasts about two weeks. You do not realize
what a difference it makes until you change it. I do mostly
TIG and that is not so hard on lens. Had to make some big
gates outside using stick. I thought I am just getting old
and stupid, I could not get a clear view. Got some 1mm clear
perspex and cut new protective lens. Like night and day. I
know this is basic, but often you get under pressure and
forget about basics. Your lens might seem clear, but guaranteed
there will be fine scratches that will spoil your vision
when they are hit by the intense arc light. I also found
the helmet sensors work better with a clear unscratched
lens.

Thanks for a wonderful site.
