Need to know what tracing the puddle means? Thanks Brad

when i make reference to "tracing the puddle" or "tracing the front of the puddle" i am talking about moving the arc along the leading edge of the puddle as if the arc was the point of a pencil and you were tracing it.
on some welds, like a fillet weld, tracing the entire shape of the puddle works well.
it amounts to a series of small oval shapes but some can relate better to the phrase " tracing the puddle"
