After hours of overthinking I stumbled on something so simple it made me happy and mad at the same time.
I made a guide block for a jig I was creating for sharpening tungstens. I had an elaborate plan but when I tested my idea with just the block it worked so well I decided that was all I needed.
I just drilled a 7/64" hole in a small block of Al, stuck the tungsten in the pin vise then through the hole in the block and started grinding. I sharpened 10 tungstens in under 5 minutes with this very simple setup.
I just use a fine Al Oxide wheel but you could sub a diamond for it if you wanted.
Return to tungsten sharpeners.
