Most people find dual shield flux core easier than mig welding with hard wire for overhead welding.

As long as settings are good, and stickout is about 3/4" very little, or no manipulation is needed in order to make a good overhead weld.

TIPS:A longer stickout aka contact to work distance CTWD of 3/4” to 1” provides best results Using too short a stickout can result in worm tracks
