What is your take on chemical sharpeners?
----------------------------------------------------
They work.
no grinding scratches but they typically do leave a residue as well as some nasty fumes.
one jar of chem sharp lasts a really long time and since tungsten sharpeners cost anywhere from 300-800 dollars, and replacement diamond wheels are sometimes 45 bucks, chemical sharpeners are definitely an option.
Chem sharp puts a very smooth tapered point.
the tungsten is dark and discolored after using chem sharp but one light on a piece of scrap and the electrode shines up and is good to go.
Return to tungsten sharpeners.
