Can you recomend a welder for the novice beginner?

by Scott

I am a novice/beginner when with great asperations. I am pursuing to learn to tig weld and serious enough about it to buy a machine. Can you recommend a good machine for a nicely set up home shop with 220v? I have looked at the Lincoln Precision Tig 225 but after watching your videos I am thinking also about the Power Tig 250EX. Any suggestions appreciated.

BTW I love this site!

Scott,

both are good units but with very different power requirements.

the lincoln requires a bigger breaker and more amperage draw so make sure your circuit can handle whatever machine you decide on.

the spec sheets are usually pretty easy to find on the company's web site
