AC welding for repairs

Jody,

You have mentioned using AC with Aluminum Bronze Rod for various situations.

If I'm welding cast iron with Al.Br. rod, what tungsten do I use since I'm trying to do it AC?

If I am welding a funky unknown bronze alloy casting and I want to try Aluminum Bronze rod on AC, what tungsten do I use and how do I prep it?

I'm typically set up with 2% thoriated, sharpened to a point. I don't know jack about AC adjustments.

I prefer 2% lanthanated but
2% thoriated will work fine.

taper at first not quite a sharp as you would on steel and it will ball on its own.

if you have an ac balance knob, set it to more penetration....and use a gas lens
