I'm practicing my 6G and I'm having trouble with the finals. In one spot I have Mt. Fuji and in another spot is Mt. Everest. I think I know what I'm doing wrong but nobody around to confirm it. I'm pulling the rod away instead of snapping it to the side... correct?

Could be...also keep your arc length tight.
when you start or when you start back from stopping, light up about an inch in front of the crater. long arc a bit at first while you zero in on the crater.
tighten up the arc as you get to the crater where you stopped and let the bead form to fill the outline of the crater ...then proceed with the bead. ..
