Can anyone explain to me what this test is and how the best way to practice and pass?

Jay,
arkansas bellhole means the pipe is on a 45 degree making one side harder for you. its also called a 6g test.
thats the whole idea. a 6g is considered harder and qualifies for all position welding.
since it is on a 45 deg, one side will be harder than the other and you will need to practice enough so that you can make both sides come out good.
the best way to practice is to find a school with an instructor who can show you and allow you to use their pipe for practice.
but the big thing is knowing exactly the test you will be taking.
their all different. size of pipe and wall thickness make a difference in what you practice on.
