50% Argon/ 50% Helium

Nice website!

Anything wrong about using this on anything other than aluminum?

--------------------------------------------------

good question.
there are actually lots of uses for the 50/50 argon/ helium mix.
if you have a light duty 115v inverter tig welder, even on steel, this mix will help weld hotter and get you over the hump when you are maxing out the machine.

If you have the amperage capability, you don't need the helium and since it costs a bit more than argon, no need to use it.

and on thin sheet metal, it might actually be too hot for you.

other than that, it wont hurt anything.

thanks for the post,
